Dog Trainer Dee Hoult is Miami’s first Certified Trick Dog Training Instructor

Miami, FL July 9, 2012 – Applause Your Paws’ Owner and Senior Trainer, Denisa “Dee” Hoult is Miami’s First Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI). Certification to be a CTDI is attained through Kyra Sundance’s Do More With Your Dog! Program, the only official sanctioning and organizing body for the sport of Dog Tricks.

“I’m really excited to be able to offer titles now the dogs that graduate from my Tricks & Fun Class,” says Hoult. “It’s always so much fun and refreshing to see my students cheer on their dogs and get pumped up when their dogs master the tricks we’re teaching!” Most dog owners appreciate and understand why obedience training is so important, yet Hoult emphasizes that trick training is critical in all dog training as it strengthens the bond and relationship of the dog and its family, from young children to adults of all ages, by simply having fun without the need of prior basic obedience knowledge. From taking a bow, saying prayers, rolling over, sitting pretty, weaving through poles and tunnels, jumping through hoops and much more, Hoult is determined to continue giving her two-legged clients the confidence that they too can teach their dogs through kindness, dedication, and lots of rewards without the use of physical punishment or roughness.

It was in 1987 with her first dog Babe, a Border Collie mix, that Hoult discovered her passion for teaching dogs. Babe and Hoult entered a pet tricks contest held at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas that year. Babe jumped up on a chair, sat down and shook hands with the then five-year-old Hoult. Today Hoult, affectionately referred to as the “Doggie Deeva” by her clients, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, a Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, a service dog trainer, an Animal Behavior College Instructor, Head Trainer for Paws4You Rescue, has authored numerous canine related articles, and is one of only six Dogs & Storks Presenters in the entire state of Florida. When Hoult isn’t busy training other peoples dogs she’s training her own dogs, specifically her Expert Trick Dog, a 7yr old Labrador Retriever who can fetch you a drink from the fridge, help put away laundry, turn on the Roomba vacuum, and roll himself up in a blanket among many other fun tricks. “We’re working on our Champion Trick Dog Title now,” Hoult enthusiastically shares, “and after that, we’re going to have to start making stuff up! We’re running out of tricks to do!”
